The Ajanta Caves are a group of 30 rock –
cut Buddhist cave monuments and comes under UNESCO World Heritage. The Ajanta Caves are considered to be a master piece of

40’ N latitude and 200 30’ E
longitude.The Ajanta Caves are located on an elevated site approximately 2,240
feet (683 metres) above the sea level.The caves name is named after Ajanta
Village which is 12 km from the caves.The climate at the Ajanta Caves is
typical of a semi –arid region .There are three distinct seasons are found here viz winter ,summer and monsoons. In the
monsoon season brings moderate to heavy rainfall. The average maximum
temperature 400 C and average minimum temperature 300 C to 12 0C.And average rainfall 150mm.

There are thirty
caves in Ajanta ,some of them unfinished
and negligible. Sixteen contain mural painting .But the best work
is to be found in caves1,2,16,17 and 19.The best sculpture
are found in caves 1,4,17,19 ,24 and 26.In these caves life of Gautam Buddha
and Buddhism have been depicted. The
transport available in Ajanta Caves areas are : Electric Buses
,Auto Rickshaws , Private Cars ,Taxis ,MSRTC Tourist Buses and Train.The Ajanta Caves to
Aurangabad Railway Station(Chhatrapati
Sambhajinagar) is 100 to 150 km
and Ajanta Caves to Aurangabad Airport (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) is 97
to 102 km.Entry : Ticketed .Best time visit the Ajanta Caves during the
winter months from October to February . Domestic tourists as well as International tourists have
lack of information about distance between the Ajanta Caves
and Ellora Caves , so generally people missed to see one of the caves

due this
major technical ignorance and pacuity of time. The distance between the Ajanta Caves
and the Ellora Caves is approximately 100 kilometers (about 62 miles) by road.
The travel time by car is typically around 2.5 to 3 hours, but this can vary
depending on road conditions and traffic.
