Dwarka is famous and popular for Dwarkadish Temple.Dwarkadhish Temple is dedicated to Lord krishna . Dwarka is also known as one of the Chardham of Hindu pilgrimage centre. Dwarka is also one of the seven most ancient religious cities of  India .Dwarka is part of the “ Krishna pilgrim circuit”,which includes Vrindavan ,Mathura , Barsana ,Gokul ,Govardhan,kurukshetra and Puri .Dwarka is a town come under Devbhumi Dwaraka district in the Gujarat state.Town is located between 22.2442⁰ N  latitude and 68.9685 ⁰ E longtitude .Dwarka is situated 70 feet (21m)above the sea level .Dwarka is located on the western shore of the Okhamandal Peninsula , on the right bankof the Gomti river ,at the mouth of the Gulf of kutch ,facing the Arabian sea. Dwarka has a hot semi arid climate .Dwarka’s average maximum temperature is 30⁰ C and minimum temperature 23.6⁰ C. The average rainfall in Dwarka is 404millimetres (15.9 inches).In the Mahabharata era ,Dwarka was formerly known as Kushasthali .

                                               

Dwarka was the capital of the Anarta kingdom .The lord Krishna and Yadavas community ,who were migrated from Mathura to Dwarka. Yadavas established their kingdom in the city and rebuilt it.Here the Dwarkadhish Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and originally built around 2500 years ago.It was destroyed by Mahmud Bagada rulers.Later Dwarkadish Temple restablished in the 16^th century. Dwarka has many other religious places, including the Rukmini Devi Temple. Dwarka has a popular beach for locals and tourists, it is located near the main temple of the town.
