Thar Desert  also  known as the Great Indian Desert . The Rann of Kutch to the south Indus river plain to the west , the Aravalli Range to the southeast  and the Punjab Plain to the north ,Thar Desert in Rajasthan features a subtropical . Desert  has arid climate characterized  by extreme temperatures ,high evaporation rates ,very low rainfall.
