The Gokarna town rests at an elevation of approximately 9meters(30 feet) above  sea level.Gokarna is about 238km north of Mangalore ,483 km from Bengaluru and about 59 km from karwar.Town is between the Gangavalli river and Aghanashini river along the karwar coast  by the Arabian sea. It is 200 km north from the college towns of Suratkal and Manipal. Gokarna is a tropical climate characterized by hot ,humid weather and heavy monsoons.Town has average maximum temperatures range from  30⁰ C to 33⁰ C and average minimum temperature range from 22⁰ C to 25⁰ C. Gokarna ‘s average rainfall of about 2,932mm .Gokarna’s history is start from kadamba Dynasty ,then came under Vijayanagara empire. After that the Nayakas has taken control of  town. The Kashmir Valley  has  an average elevation of  1,850  meters ( 6,070 ft ) above sea level ,but the surrounding Pir Panjal range has an average elevation of 10,000 feet (3,000m).The  valley is 100km (62 mi) wide and covers 15,520.3 km (5,992 sq mi) in area.It is bounded by sub –ranges of the western Himalayas,the great Himalayas  bound it in the  northeast and separate it from the Tibetan plateau ,whereas the Pir Panjal Range in the lesser Himalayas  bounds it on the west and the south ,and separates  it from the Punjab Plain.The Jhelum river is the major river which acts a drainage for whole Kashmir valley.The Kashmir valley features a modified continental Mediterranean climate that is significantly cooler than the tropical plains  of mainland surrounded  by  high mountain walls ,it experiences cold ,snowy winters ,mild ,pleasant summers.
