Puri  is a holy  town of  Orissa state .It is situated on the  sea shore of the Bay of Bengal  .Bhubaneswar  is the capital of Orissa which is 60km away from Puri .Puri is popular and famous for one of the four dhams  believed in Hindu mythology. Srikshetre and Nilachal were another two names of Puri during ancient times.There are many Monasteries and Hindu Temples are located in this town.Puri is famous for Jagannath Temple and also popular for Rath Yatra which take place every year from Jagannath temple . Puri is located on the east coast  of India. It is delimited by the Bay Of Bengal on the southeast ,Mauza Gopinathpur in the north & Mauza Balukhand in the east. It is within  the 67 km  coastal stretch of sandy beaches that extends between the south of Puri city and Chilika Lakes.Puri lies between 19⁰.7 N latitude and 65⁰.75 E longitude .It is 0.1 m (0.33ft) above sea  level. Puri has tropical and moderate climate . Humid  Climate present throughout the year .The maximum temperature is 36⁰C (97⁰F) in summer and in winter  minimum temperature is 17⁰C (63⁰F). The average annual rainfall is 1,337 millimetres (52.6 in ).From ancient period to modern time Puri consider as holy land of Lord Jagannatha and also consider one of Dham of Hindu reglion .It also know as holy place for Buddhism . At  present ,it has become  a famous pilgrim centre
