Alwar is a city which comes under National Captial Region (NCR) of India .Alwar is a city located in the state of Rajasthan . The ancient name of Alwar town was Salvia or Salwa. Alwar city is fairly rich in mineral wealth .It produces copper Ore ,Pyrophylite ,Copper Clay,Soap ,Stone, Barites ,Limestone ,Quartz,Feldspar,Granite ,Marble and Dolomite.City exist from Vedic period. Alwar lies between 27.570N latitude and 76.60 E longitude . City has an average height of 271m(889ft) above the sea level. The Ruparali river is a major river near the city of Alwar .Alwar is located 150 km south of Delhi and it is 150 km north of Jaipur .The town has a hot semi –arid climate with long extremely hot summers and short ,mild to warm winters.The climate here is considered to be a local steppe climate .The average maximum temperature is 41 0 c(106 0 f ) and average minimum temperature is 80 c (46 0 f ). Alwar monsoon season is very short. Annual rainfall is 67cm . The monsoon season appears in the month of July and August.The Alwar was a part of the Matysya kingdom one of the 16 ancient Mahajanapadas. It was ruled by Salva or Salvitribe. Alwar were ruled by multiple dynasties like Jadauns of Braj ,Nikumbh ,Khanzada Rajput ,Badgujar Rajputs ,Maratha Empire etc. In colonial era Alwar state become as a princely state established in 1770.It was established by a kachwaha Rajput ,Pratap Singh Naruka who was earlier a jagirdar .Princely state came under Indian domin after the independence of India in 1947.
