Bodh Gaya
is a famous religious site. It is also a pilgrimage centre for Hindus and Buddhists.
Bodh Gaya is popular and famous for Mahabohi Temple Complex. It is situated in
state of Bihar and became a UNESCO World Heritage site. It also famous as it is
the place where Gautama Buddha have attained enlightenment under a banyan ,
tree which became famous as Bodhi tree.
Archaeological survey find Buddhists sculpture since the Mauryan period. Bodh
Gaya is the most important of the main four pilgrimage sites related to the
life of Gautama Buddha and other three being Kushinagar, Lumbini and Sarnath. Bodh
Gaya lies between 24.69610 N Latitude and 84.98700 E
longitude . Bodhgaya is a small town ,which is located in the Gaya district of Bihar.It is situated
in the transit region between the Chota Nagapur
plateau and the alluvial Gangetic plains of South Bihar .Bodh Gaya lies on the
western bank of the river Niranjana at an average altitude of 113 meters above
the sea level.Bodh Gaya‘s climate is warm and temperate . The summers are more rains as compare to
winter seasons.The average maximum temperature is 400 C and average
minmum temperature is 23 0 C. The annual rainfall in Bodh Gaya is
1055m. Bodh Gaya is considered to be the religion centre and holiest site of Buddhism .The first temple site was built by
King Ashoka here. After that it became pilgrim centre of Buddhism. The
