Delhi Finds
prominent reference form the
times of the epic Mahabharata . After 1947
,it became the capital of India and was made a union territory in 1956 .
Lying in the northern part of the country , Delhi is surrounded by Haryana on
all sides except the east where it border with Uttar Pradesh. In the history of
Delhi , the 69 th constitutional
amendment is a milestone as Delhi got a legislative assembly with the enactment
of the National Captial Territory Act 1991. Area of Delhi is 1483 sq .km with a population of 1,37,82,976. And the principal language are Hindi, Punjab
and Urdu . Delhi city is situated between 28.610 Latitude N and 77.230 E Longitude and it
lies 227m (744ft) above the sea level.The climate of Delhi is dry withsemi –arid climate . The
summer season from 21 March to 15 June with an average daily maximum
temperature 390 C . The winter season from 26
Novermber to 9 Februray with an average daily maximum temperature
below 20 0 C. The main archelological sites and other tourism sites located in
Delhi are Redfort, Humayun’s Tomb ,Qutab Minar, Mehrauli Archaelogical
Park,Purana Quila , National Museum , Kashmiri Gate ,Lotus Temple , Feroz Shah Kotla, Mughal Garden, Buddha Jayanati Park, House
Khas Lodi Garden ,Jantar Mantar ,
National Railway Musuem , Rashtrapati
Bhawan, Parliament House , India Gate ,
Akshardham Temple . Tughlaqbad Fort,
Ajmer Gate , Hindu Rao House, Salimgarh Fort ,Delhi Gate

development of tourism . Delhi is enriched with attraction which attract
more and more foreign and domestic
tourists to this state. There are many more ancillary
objects are available in Delhi which
plays an important role for tourist
industry in Delhi viz Dili

and crafts products are
available was established at end of
1993 . The architectural features
of the complex have been
specially desgined to reflect
a traditional North Indian
style with brick Jail (lattic ) and slate stone roofing . The built up area is almost 7 acre
of land with beautiful green
and flowered . Like all metropolitan cites Delhi is best equipped
with a varity of private shopping complexes and malls suited for
tourists who want to buy from the pre –selected best and find newly designed
good quantity handicraft and
textiles which are not available at
common place shops and market. In Delhi the best handlooms are available
at the State Emporia , Handlooms House, Central Cottage Industries ,
Fabindia and South Extension Market Shops. For Handicraft again the State
Emporia, Central Cottage Industry , Haus Khas Village , all the at Janpath starting from the Tibetan Market
Qutab Minar area and Santushi complex near Ashoka
Hotel are the best choice.Various
categories of accommodation are
available in Delhi for the tourists ,such as
Five Star Deluxe Hotels, First
Class Hotel , Nonstsar Hotel , Resort /lodges, Guest house , Dharmshalas etc. On the outskirts with in easy motorable distance
there are many
week–end resorts. Other
accommodation like YMCA ,YWCA ,Other Hostels and Guest House belong
to various organization are
available in the city . There are many lodges which are inexpensive with
different levels of facilities. On
smaller scale Paying Guest
Accommodations and Dharmshalas are
available in Delhi. Some of them are approved by the government while some are
not. All kinds of tourist could visit Delhi and could arranged their accommodation according to
their economic status.Cuisine , everyday experience , rituals , festival and fairs are all
such
ways in which a traveler can get beneath the surface of things . By doing so one is able to participate in the social environment
which creates the unique and specific flavor of a place . Delhi is enrich with
all short of cuisines, festival and fairs to provide better hospitality and
services to both international as well as
domestic tourist. Delhi is
accessible by different modes of
transport such as Air, Rail ,Metro and Road. The international airport The
international airport of Delhi operate flight to major destinations of the
world. Being the capital of India, it is well connected to most other
cities , state capital and other places
of India. The foreign
airlines and national carriers operates their international flight
from this airport. Rail
services is well connected with rest of India it operates from New
Delhi , Nijameeden and Anand Vihar station controlled by Northern Railway Services . Many people use
surface transport to enter the
city. There are a number of private and
state owned buses which operate
to and from Delhi . All these ancillary
services in a way helps to improve the tourist industry of Delhi.
