Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh which is  located in the north east part of India. It is set in the foothills of the Himalayas ranges.Westside of the city is called Geker Singying. Itanagar is surrounded by forests, Ganga lake, Orchid and ferns.It is perfect destination  for long vacation . It also show the wonderful experience to see the unique culture, and local people ‘s hospitality . Itanagar is also ideal place for adventure sport viz Angling ,Rafting, and trekking .These activities are extremely popular activity around the city.Itanagar lies between 27.10N latitude and 93.620E longitude.The city is located at 320 (metres)above the sea level. The climate of Itanagar is humid subtropical climate.The summers are hot and humid while monsoon season experiences a heavy rainfall, the winter season is dry and very cool .While the average maximum temperature is 250 C and average minmum temperature is 9.40 C. Itanagar ‘s average annual rainfall is about 2289mm . According to some historians the region was home to many indigenous ethnic groups. During the 17th century, the Ahoms ruled in this region.The Ita fort

   

was built by the Ahoms and is the best example of the powerful Ahom rule in the region. The Monpa chief ruled the northwestern part of Arunachal Pradesh. The Monpa chiefs are said to be a part of the Monyul Empire. During 500 BC, the Monyul dynasty flourished. Tibet and Bhutan tribes captured and ruled few sections on the northern frontier of the  region and the remaining part of the  Itanagar was ruled by the Ahoms .The region continued to be under the Ahoms rule until British annexed the region in the year 1858, East India Company in the 1913-14  tried to solve the issues by clearing the border of British India and Tibet. A 550 miles line was drawn by Sir Henry McMahon as a boundary line for British India, which was known as the McMahon line. The region after the independence of India  once again came under conflict with the government of China. In the year 1972 Arunachal Pradesh became a union territory. The Government of India in the year 1987 acknowledged Arunachal Pradesh as another state of Independent India and declared the Mc Mahon line as the official boundary of Arunachal Pradesh.
