Jhansi is a historical city of Uttar Pradesh
state of India.Jhansi has two administrative headquarters one is Jhansi
district and another is Jhansi
division.The area of Jhansi is about 5,024 sqkm2 (1,940 sqm).It is
located in the region of Bundekhand on the banks of the rivers Pahuj and Betwa
,it also call Gateway to Bundelkand .Jhansi is about 420 kilometres from New Delhi and from south of
Gwailor it is about 102 kilometres .Jhansi
is situated on the plateau of central India .In north of city is natural
slopes and south western border of the vast Tarai plains of Uttar Pradesh.The
elevation rises on the south side.Jhansi lies between 26,43330 N latitude
and 78,58330 E .An average elevation of 284 metres (935 feet) above the sea level.Jhansi climate
is extreme temperatures which has been
experience. The southwest monsoon
arrived every year but northeast monsoon
is never experience in Jhansi . Cold temperature in mid –December.Sring

.During ancient time Jhansi was ruled by Chandela Rajput kings .After Chandela
dynasty decline in 11th century ,it lost its importance. Then
the
kingdom came under Raja Bar Singh Deo of Orchha state in 17th
century .In 1729 ,Jhansi came under the Maratha Empire Maharaja Chattrasal. Maharaja
Chattrasal was offered Jhansi and other parts of his state to Peshwa Baji Rao
as gratitude because Peshwa Baji Rao help him to defeated
Farrukhabad Muhammed khan Bangesh . Jhansi served as the capital of a Martha
province in the 18 the c entury .From
1804 till 1858 it was a Princely State ,when
it became a part of British India.Jhansi was included in the state of
Uttar Pradesh ,after the independence . The type of
