 Kodagu is a beautiful hill station in karnataka state of  India .It is blessed with mesmerizing waterfalls , towering hills ,scenic views and sprawlig coffee  planations .Offering endless opportunities  for  tourists to get closer to the nature .The region  is also a renowed cultural hub,besides natural  beauty . Coorg  is former name of kodagu .Coorg  is home to Byakuppa who are  second  largest  Tibetan  settlement  of India .To explore and experience of kodagu ,tourist must–visit karnataka state.kodagu is situated on the eastern slopes of the Western Ghats . kodagu’s  geographical area is about 4,102 sqkm .The kodagu  district  is bordered by Dakshina kannade district  to the northernwest ,Hassan district to the north ,Mysuru district to the east ,kasaragod district  of kerala in west and kannur district of kerala to  the southwest  and Wayanad  district of kerala to the south. Kodagu is located between 12 “20’14.98 ⁰N latitude and 75” 48 ’24.87 ⁰E longtiude .The elevation is 1715 metres ( 5,627ft). kodagu  has a pleasant  climate ,with a  temperature averaging  about  15 ⁰C through  out  most  of the year.The monsoon season  falls  between the months  of June and August  heavy  rainfall as high as 2500mm to 3500mm per season. The averge maximum  termperature  is 35⁰C and average minmum temperature is 8⁰C.The earliest mention about  kodagu during  date  back  to Sangam period (300 BCE).After that the Ezhimala dynasty ruled kodagu.The Haleri dynasty were ruled kodagu between 1600 and 1834 . Later on British ruled kodagu from 1834,after the Coorg war (kodagu ) until India’s independence in 1947. After  India’s Independence it become separate Coorg state ,later it become part  of Mysore state in 1956.
