largest in the Nagaland state . While Dimapur is the largest city of Nagaland . It is situated near the border of Assam .Kohima originally known as kewhira .Kohima
was founded in 1878 . It was become official capital of Nagaland state in 1963

East longtitude .It is located at
southern part of Nagaland
State.It lies north of the Japfu –Barail
intersection with Pulie Badze to the South West overlooking the city is
located on the elevantion ranging from 1,345 to 1,560 metres above the sea level.Kohima city is very
pleasant in winters season ,and very very little rainfall, and very warm very
rainy summer. The coolest months are from December to February, and frost may
occur ,and due to highest altitudes occasional snowfall is possible. Kohima

minimum temperature 100
c. Kohima was founded in 1878 ,when the
British Empire established its headquarter
at Naga Hills which was district of Assam Province .kohima was become
the site of one the
bloodiest battle of world war II.The city was control under British Empire post- Independence .
After – Independence, kohima city became as capital of Nagland state . The city
officially declared by the Government of India as the capital of Nagaland in
