Sikkim is a State in North eastern side of India. It is second smallest state of
India . Kangchenjunga is situated
in Sikkim . Kangachenjunga is the
highest peak in India and third highest on earth .Sikkim’s
capital and largest city is Gangtok .Almost 35% of the state is covered by
Khangchendzonga National Park . Khangchendzonga National Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sikkim is bordered
by the Tibet autonomous region of
China in the north and northeast
,Province No .1 of Nepal in the west and
West Bengal in the south. Sikkim is also
close to the Silgiuri corrider ,which borders Bangladesh.Sikkim lies between
27.35160 N latitude and 88.32390 E longitude. Sikkim is
300 m or 8,586 feets above the sea level. It is also situated at Himalyan ranges. Sikkim state’s climate ranges from sub –tropical in the
south to tundra in the north. Sikkim has
five seasons such as Winter,Summer,Spring, Autumn, and Monsoon season.The
average maximum temperature is 130C and average minimum
is 00 C . The average
rainfall in Sikkim is 325 cm . Lepchas were the main inhabitants and
as well as the ruler of the land of Sikkim. Lepchas were original people of
Sikkim state .The Buddhist kingdom established under the Chogyal in the 17th
century followed by British rule until 1947.After Independence Sikkim become separate country
but in 1975 it was rejoin with India. Now it has become a state of India. Type
