Thiruvananthapuram is one of the largest city of south  India.In the British period this town used to call Trivandrum and now the name has been changed to   Thiruvananthapuram.It is capital of Kerala state. Thiruvananthapuram city lies between 8.5  ⁰N longitude and 76.9 ⁰E  latitudes on the west coast ,close to the southern trip of mainland of India .  Thiruvananthapuram is located in the  west coast of India and is bounded by the Lakshadweep  sea to its west .The westen ghat situated on its east.The city is 16^ft (4.9m) above the sea level . average maximum temperature  is 35 ⁰C and average minimum temperature is 20 ⁰C.The average rainfall of the city is 1754.1 mm. Thiruvananthapuram was under the Ay dynasty ,who was  related to the Pandya of Madurari.Vizhinjam was old name of present day of Thiruvananthpuram .The city was the capital of the Ay dynasty. After the death  of King Vikramaditya Varaguna death in 925 ,all the territories become part of the Chera dynasty .The king Marthanda Varma found the princely state  of Thiruvithamkoor in 1729 .In 1795 he made Thiruvananthpuram his capital ,after shift from  Padamananabhapuram in kanyakumari district. Thiruvananthpuram become famous and popular city of kerala under Marthanda Varma. After end   of   British era in 1947, Travancore chose to join with  the Travancora .In 1949 ,Thiruvananthapuram become the capital of state of Thiukochi . Thiukochi change  as the state of kerela in 1 November 1956 by the Government Of India.
