Vadodara
is also called Baroda .The name of the city is called as Vadodara because the city
lies in the bally of the Banyan trees. Vadordara is known as Sanskari Nagari (
means “Cutural City “ ). It is also called kala Nagari (means “City Of
Art”) of India.Vadordara is the third
–largest city of Gujarat state .Vadodara is connected with Delhi to Mumbai
railway line and National Highway 8 . Vadodara is situated between 22.3 0 N
latitudes and 73.19 0 E longtitudes , in western side of India. It is
placed 39 metres above the sea level and
spread with an area of 400 square
kilometres (150 sq mi).The city is located near the banks of Vishwamitri in the
central Gujarat .This river is dried in summer season and leave only a small
stream of water.Vododara city lies on the fertile plain between the Narmada and
Mahi river. Vadodara city is the tenth largest city of India. It‘s climate is a border line savanna climate.The
annual rainfall is roughly 850 millimetres or 33 inches. Vadodara having three
main season such as summer,winter and
monsoon .In the summer maximum temperature is 390 C and average minimum temperature is 240 C and in
winter maximum temperature is 30 0 C
and average minimum temperature is 150 C. The Vadordara city was called Chandanavati , after
the rule
of Chanda of the Dodiya Rajputs. It’s capital was also known as Virakshetra or
Viravati (land of warriors),later on it was known as Vadpatraka or Vododara.In
the British period it was called Baroda and continued up to 1974 .Then the name was change by the then government as
