Rameswaram is one of the most famous pilgrim centre of India.It is known as significant Hindu pilgrimage site and part of the Charm Dham .It is famous for Rama sethu which seem to be a land connected between India and Srl Lanka in the past time. Rameswaram is located  between  9.292478⁰ latitude and  79.309135⁰ longitude.The town has an average elevation of 10 meters (32 feet) above the sea level. Rameswaram is a town in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu of India. Town located on Pamban island ,which is separated from the mainland due to Pamban Channel and 40 kilometers (25 mi) from Mannar Island. It is in the Gulf of Mannar at the tip of the Indian peninsula .Pamban island is famous due to Rameswaram Island .It is considered to be one of the holiest places in India for Hindu pilgrims. Rameswaram climate is dry tropical climate with low humidity. Rameswaram average maximum temperature is 28⁰ to 31⁰C and average minimum temperature is 23⁰ to 24⁰  C. The average annual rainfall  is 1133mm.Rameswaram history show that town was there since Ramayana periods, according Hindu mythology script . It is a major pilgrim centre because of Ramanathaswamy Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva .Here Lord Ram Shiva for killing the Ravana ,according the legend . It is very  interesting because the island is in the shape of a conch. Rameswaram is known as the closet point to Sri Lanka from India according Legend.It is a holy town existed even before the birth of Bhagavan Ram Chandra .But there is no proof to support this statement ,these are all legends .But evidence of Rameswaram shows the Chola king ,Rajendra Chola (1012 -1040 CE) had a control of the town for short period.Then Jaffna kingdom took the control  of the town and continued to rule the town from 1215-1624 CE. After that the region fell under the ruler of different leader such as Chanda Sahib ,Arcat Nawab and Muhammed Yusuf khan (1725 -1764 CE) ies in the middle of 18^th century ,During  1795 ,Rameswaram  came under the direct control of the British east India company. After 1947 , the town became a  part  of  Independent  India  and  Indian  government   converted  Rameswaram  as  municipality  of   Ramanathpuram  district  of  the
