Valley is a hill station located in Visakhapatnam district of the Andhra

located 114 km away from Vishakhapatnam and near to the Odisha State Border.
The Sunkarimetta and Anantagiri resevered forest in the Araku Valley are very
famous among the tourists.The Galikonda ,Rakakonda ,Sankarimetta and Chitamogondi mountains are surrounded Araku
Valley .One of the mountain called
Galikonda is 5,000 feet (1,500m) above sea level and highest mountain in
the whole State Andhra Pradesh .Araku valley is called as Rich in biodiversity
.Climate of Araku Valley is a moderate climate throughout the year. The average
annual temperature of Araku Valley in
the summer season is 350 C and in the winter season is 250
C. Araku Valley‘s average annual
rainfall is 1700 mm. Best time to visit Araku Valley is between December to February .The history
of Araku Valley is related with tribes
,who are always in their colourful dress especially the women. The tribes woman perform Dimsa and
Mayur dances especially during Itika Pongal. The males are always busy with
their cultivation work or hunting .The tribes organised a hunting festival in the month of
April
.Many foreign tourist take part in this festival which make the destination more
