Khajuaho  is one of the famous and popular tourist destination in India .It is a small town in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Khajuarho  town is called Kharjuravahaka in the ancient period. Name has come from Sanskrit language kaharjur that means “ Date Palm”. The khajuraho Group Of Monument is come in the list of   UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.It also consider  as “Seven Wonders” Of India.It is the country’s largest  group of medieval period Jain and Hindu temples,which is famous for their  decoration and sculpture. Khajuarho town come under the Chhatarpur District in Madhya Pradesh (India) . The language spoken here Hindi and English .It is situated  between 24⁰ 51’  N - 24⁰ 85’  N latitude and 79⁰ 56’  E -79⁰ 93’  E longitude .Khodar river in south ,ken river  in the  north east ,Beni Sagar Reservoir in the south west are natural resource surrounded the town of  Khajuraho.The area of  Khajuraho is 16.93 sq.km  and lies on altitude  283 m 

 

 (928ft) above  sea level. The  hot humid summer ,a  monsoon season and cool pleasant winters every year, rainfall 114 cm annual  in khajuraho . The maximum temperature is 42 ⁰ C and minimum  temperature  is 8⁰C. Best season to  visit by tourists is winter season. Mauryans ,Sungas ,Kushans ,Nagas Of Padmavati,Vakkataka Dynasty ,Pushyabhuti Dynasty and Gurjara –Praithara Dynasty ruled here successfully. Gurjara- Praithara Dynasty of Chandel who made khajuraho Temples during ( c.950- 1002). 85 temples which were originally built but 20 remain today.
