Ooty is a popular and famous hill station in southern part of India.Udagamandalam is the orginal name of Ooty.It is also called Ootacamund.This hill station located in the Nigligiris district of state of Tamil Naidu. Blue hills is called by local people of  the area. Club Hill, Elk Hill, Dodabetta Hill and snowdoll Hill  are main hills of this region.Niligris vegetation is different from other mountains.It is part of the western ghats.The climate of Ooty is subtropical highland climate.  Spring Season is pleasant . Winter Season is cold at night. Contrast climate compare to rest of South India.The average maximum temperature is  17⁰ C to 20⁰ C (63⁰ F to 68⁰ F) and the average minimum temperature  5⁰ C to 12⁰ C (41 ⁰ F to 54⁰ F). Ootay came under the Hoysala kings in 1117CE. Later it came under Tipu Sultan in eighteenth century . After him it had gone to The East India Company in 1799.And after India’s independent Ooty came under Indian Government.
